I thought that the sole purpose of starting my business was to make money. It was not until much later on that I learned to live for a greater cause than just making money. I imparted skills and mentored young underprivileged youth in business and bought them laptops from the proceeds I got from my company. That’s when I started stopped merely running a business, and I started to build a brand. Even when I had financial challenges in business, I didn’t give up because I now lived a higher purpose than simply making money. The lives of those underprivileged youth were at stake.
In today’s fast-paced business world, it’s easy to get caught up in the race for more profits, but the truth is that real success comes from having a purpose beyond profit. Imagine building a company that grows financially and leaves a lasting impact on society. When your business is driven by a mission greater than money, you naturally attract loyal clients who resonate with your values.
Think of brands like Apple or Nike—they’re not just selling products; they’re selling an experience, a movement, a belief system. Similarly, you can build a business that changes lives by aligning your skills and services with a deeper meaning. What’s your purpose? Why do you do what you do? Reflect on that and watch as your brand not only grows but becomes something people can’t help but talk about.
Shift your focus from profit to purpose and create a brand that leaves a legacy. Download my e-book Bloom & Thrive and visit our shop for more e-books and templates.
