Truth Forms Belief

Man has got an innate yearning for the truth. It is in his nature to seek that which is undisputed. There is ultimate peace in finding that which rules one’s life. A person’s truth forms their worldview. For example, if one’s truth is that money is the core of everything then their worldview will be that everyone and anything can be influenced by it.

Most men have found themselves in different avenues debating what is true and what is not. They get very agitated when they are disproved and always find themselves in bitter cyclic debates trying to defend their cause. This is because they hold their truth too dear for anyone to render it false.

We have even seen some indulging in every form of religious doctrine in search of the truth. One’s truth forms their belief. Many believe in what they see, what they feel, what has been proved, or what has been the tradition.

I have seen many confess that they believe in the supernatural but in the real sense, they actually believe in the physical, in what they see and feel. The supernatural to them is just another fancy tale to bewilder at. This is because they are influenced by their surrounding.

Every day, truth is ministered. It may be in the music one listens to, the media, the daily small talk, or a friend’s point of view on something. Most men are influenced by whatever surrounds them. If one is surrounded by negativity chances are that they would become negative.

Most say that they believe in the truth. They each have their own definition of the truth which explains the different religious sets and doctrines. It is sad that most people’s beliefs are communal, they follow what the masses believe.

If one knows that success comes through education, they will believe that for one to be successful, they must study hard in school. If one knows that one must go to the hospital for them to get well then they will believe that the doctor holds the key to their healing.

On the other hand, if one has seen uneducated people being immensely successful, it will not be necessarily for the to go to school. If one has experienced miraculous healing, a doctor would not be the go to person should they want to get well.

What is Truth?

And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. – John 8:32

Man’s biggest quest in life is finding the truth. Truth liberates. And it liberates eternally. Truth that liberates finitely is not truth but a hoax. If I have to go to the doctor for treatment every time then it means that healing cannot be found in hospitals. If I enter God’s rest and never get ill then that’s where true healing is.

So which is this truth that sets free? Which is this truth that liberates?

There is only one truth. There can never be two truths. Truth and Lies exist in duality. If Christ says that you are set free and are blessed beyond measure then anything that states otherwise is a lie. If Christ says that you are healed but anyone or anything says that you are not then that is a lie.

One may ask, ‘How is it true that I am blessed beyond measure but I can barely live by? How is it true that Christ says I am healed but every test states otherwise? And even the pain in my body confirms so?’

There is a phrase that states ‘You are what you eat.’ I stated above that ‘truth’ is ministered. And once it becomes common to one’s ears it becomes a belief. If you consume unhealthy foods, you will become unhealthy. Likewise, if you consume healthy foods you will become healthy.

The same happens in the Spirit. Genesis 2:7 states that “And Jehovah God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”

All other things were created by word of mouth but God breathed His Spirit into man and he became a living thing. Since the Spirit of God is in man. Man becomes ‘God’. This is why David says in Psalms 82:6 that, I said, ‘You are “gods”; you are all sons of the Most High.’

Man was created in the image and likeness of God which means he can ‘do’ what God does. This why Jesus said that we can even do more than he did.

“Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.” – John 14:12 NIV

Why did Jesus had to affirm by saying very truly? This is because He was sure of what He was saying. When someone emphasizes something it means that they want you to take a keen note of it.

So where is the truth?

Scriptures in Romans 1:20 tell us that God has revealed Himself in nature such that no one is without excuse.

For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. – Romans 1:20

There are tons of things that man cannot explain. Things like how we came into this world cannot be explained through History. Scientists cannot explain intuition or conscience. Miracles cannot be fathomed by Science. The world has shown us that there is far much beyond our comprehension.

Most people seek the truth in queer places because they believe that truth is complex. Most have climbed mountains and hills, practiced different religious activities, and read so many books in search of the truth. But God set the truth everywhere so that man can always see Him.

The truth is in the trees. The truth is in the ground. The truth is in the hills and valleys. The truth is in the beasts of the field and the clouds that lazily saunter across the skies. The truth is in that cockroach and that weed you pluck out as you plant. Simply put, the truth is everywhere but most men cannot just see it because in seeing they cannot see. Their vision has been distorted.

God is the truth! But you are also ‘God’ so the truth is in your heart.

Man struggles to find the truth externally unaware that since the beginning of time, the truth has been living in him.

“He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.” – Ecclesiastes 3:11

What is eternity? What is this that God has put in man’s heart? I stated above that truth is eternal. The scripture above means that God has put the truth in man’s heart yet man cannot tell who He is. He cannot tell what the truth is. But why?

Distorted Truths

The devil, being very crafty perfectly knows that man has the truth in him. All the devil needs to do is to distort what God has put in man. All he needs to do is to give him another ‘truth’ that appears to be true. He does this so well because he is the master deceiver.

And no wonder, since Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. – 2nd Corinthians 11:14 AMP

Since the devil well knows that whatever man is exposed to, if not grounded will become his truth, he will make sure that his mission is to deceive man. He has for so long successfully done this through religion. He has worked hard to remove the way of God in Churches and create his own institution.

He made a Church more like another organization. It is sad that most pastors are qualified by their study in theology. Since theology is learned from books, sermons have to be prepared and delivered to the child of God through teaching.

It is bizarre that in some churches, junior pastors have to do a pre-run of the sermon before the senior pastors or board so that they are vetted if they are preaching the correct doctrine of the church. In most modern churches, preaching is tailored towards the congregation.

The devil is sure that so long as he can reduce the Rhema (which is God’s word spoken to you i.e. God’s word for you as of now) to a man-revised, worldly structured content for you to consume, he would have distorted your truth. The devil knows that if he turns revelation to religion man would be under his mercy.

Suppose God gives me a revelation that I need to spit on the ground, make some mud with the saliva, and put it on a blind man’s eyes so that they get healed and someone copies me and applies the same thing elsewhere, that is no longer revelation but religion.

If I fast for 3 days and I receive miracle healing it is not given that if you do the same you will get your healing. God speaks to us differently so there is no constant or a principle that we must follow so that we can fellowship with Him.

God’s word, which is the truth is revealed not studied. God is not studied in books and the truth is not found in theology. The apostles didn’t study theology but they changed the world. Theology and churches are do not qualify God’s servants. God qualifies His people.

How Do I Know The Truth?

God is Spirit and those who worship Him must worship Him in truth and in Spirit. – John 4:24 KJV

We only have one truth and that is God. And as we have said, the truth is everywhere. But most times, man cannot see because his vision is distorted. So how can he get to see?

If I live in a landlocked country and I would want to see the ocean, I would travel to a country with an ocean. The ocean would not just come to me. John 4:24 says that we must worship God in Spirit. Since the truth is in our Spirits, we cannot get to know the truth through our flesh.

Our tiny brains cannot fathom God and so can books, articles and even the Scriptures itself. There are so many who know the Bible cover to cover but they do not know the truth. Religion will merely tell you read your Bible and pray every day.

But what is prayer? How do you pray? Our Father who art in Heaven? But the Scriptures tell us to pray without ceasing. Does it mean we always get to the mountains and continuously recite crammed prayers? Religion will suggest appointed times to reach God and set out its laws. But the law failed.

For what the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God did: sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh. – Romans 8:3

We try to find the truth in different laws e.g. the law of nature, the law of gravity, the different laws of Science, etc. But Jesus ascended, He defied the law of gravity. If Jesus defied Physics, History, Science, and all other studies, why does man earnestly seek God in them?

The truth is in man, in his Spirit. But many are dead in the Spirit. The truth has been suppressed by facts and figures and what they are exposed to. Do you know why it is easy for a young tree to die compared to an old one? It is because of the roots.

The old tree is grounded and has its roots deep in the soil. No matter the storm nor the season nothing can shake it up. Most Christians are like creeping plants that have no firm root. Remnants of God on the other hand are like perennial indigenous plants that are deeply rooted in Him and drink from His river as affirmed by prophet Jeremiah.

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit” – Jeremiah 17:7-8

When one enters God’s rest, nothing and no one can harm them. The devil works so hard to make sure one does not enter that rest. This is why he delivers religion into the hearts of men on a silver platter and in turn, men would think that they have found the Lord.

Man worships what he finds to be true. Scientists will worship Science and will try to explain everything with Science. Some will worship their mentors and others will worship their spiritual leaders and end up in cults. What one worships becomes their truth. This is why John says that ‘those who worship Him must worship Him in truth and in Spirit.’

So why does he say they must worship Him in truth and in Spirit? This is because most worship Him not in truth but in religion. They only worship Him on Sundays, some before and after sleep, and others do it frequently assuming that the more they do it they will worship in truth.

Worship is eternal. This is a deep topic. I surely will cover it soon. Worship is not timed. The body has a clock but the Spirit doesn’t. This is why John says that you must worship Him in Spirit. The Spirit doesn’t get tired.

We see God sending people to sleep when He wanted to work on them. He also frequently speaks in dreams because there is no interference with the flesh. So for you to know the truth, your flesh must be numbed from the worldly and your Spirit must be wake.

To awaken your Spirit you must enter the consciousness of God. It is quite a task but consider this; gold, silver, and other precious minerals are not found everywhere. They are secured in places where it is hard to find. Why? Because they are precious. You must be intentional in finding the truth. Whoever seeks, finds.

To find the truth, you must be where the truth is ministered. One cannot have a happy marriage while they are subscribed to the thought that true love doesn’t exist. Flee from places that minister a false view of God and of life.

Your surrounding matters. If you are around gossipers, chances are that you are a gossiper or you will become one. Cease from engaging in those talks that bear no fruit and listen to your Spirit. The Spirit that God breathed in you. Bring your consciousness into your Spirit, remember that you are a ‘God’. God speaks only through your Spirit and that’s where you should be.

The truth is in you and the truth is you. You are proof of the truth. Meditate about the truth such that you become it. Meditate in the word of God day and night and start asking yourself questions like, ‘What does this Scripture mean to me?’

Do not believe anything that is contrary to the Word of God which is the truth. For the longest time you have maybe worked from the outside in. How about you worked from the inside out? Manifesting God’s truth from your Spirit?

If a million people called me Moses and my name is Siloma that doesn’t mean I am Moses or I will have to accept my new name to be Moses. My name will still be Siloma. Let’s say you have been suffering from migraines and the doctor confirms that you have a tumor your brain. Does that mean you are unwell?

It is so easy for one to believe the phrase ‘as a man thinkeths so is he’ only in terms of money. It is weird to most people when someone accepts poverty as his fate but not when someone accepts that they are dying of cancer. Most have been wired to believe that some diseases are fatal and cannot be healed.

If all the medical specialists in this world call you sick and Jesus says you are healed, then one of them is wrong. Most people believe the latter is the last resort.

The Jews denied that Jesus is their savior but that did not change the fact that He is the Messiah. To know the truth, you must be radical and intentional. If God says you are rich and you do not even have food that doesn’t mean that God is wrong. You continue to believe that you are rich and you become it – rich.

Conclusion

There is no better way to culminate this article than saying

And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. – John 8:32

The truth sets one free; free of despair, free of poverty, free of sickness and diseases, free of fear, free of mental health issues, free of doubt etc. The Bible says that:

If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. – John 8:36 KJV

If you know the Son who is the truth, if you worship the Son, not religiously but in truth and in Spirit why should He not set you free?
