I Am Inspired

Do I express my art?
To outdo the sharpest dart?
Or show how am set apart?

Do I share what I write?
To show how sharp and bright
I am now that I have seen the light?

Do I do this for my own glory?
To script my own story?
One so lively not boring?

I do not take credit
For all the compliments I get
I do not brag of how smart I am
And how much of an artist I can be
I am neither not cowed
By what words of despair
Meant to bring me down

I am not a genius
I am not an extra-terrestrial
My brain is not made of more matter
Than the average human’s
I just don’t rely on my own knowledge
I am just inspired
